James Bond is born a Sentinel, a type of human whose six senses are heightened to terrifying degrees. However, while unbonded, 007 has a habit of pushing himself way too far and entering the Zone: a place of uselessness where his senses overtake him.

Negotiations; with
oedipusratWhen Silva and Bond first meet, there's something very familiar between them... uncomfortably so. Silva, once one of MI6's best Guides (a powerful breed of empath, woefully the traditional counterpart to a Sentinel), provokes a desire to connect that Bond hasn't felt since he last left a drowned woman in the wreckage. Despite this, Silva is captured and taken to MI6.. where he promptly proves this was his game plan all along. However, unlike the movie, Bond makes a different choice: rather than take M with him to Skyfall, he lets Silva disappear, knowing he must lay in wait for a long time before he can make another attack against MI6.
In return, Silva begins showing up to Bond's missions abroad, nudging the agent out of his zoning. What starts as a gnawing game between the last two rats soon begins to dissolve into a chaos neither of them predicted.

Instead of entering the secret service, Bond becomes a talented con-man for the sake of his own agenda. He tours Britain and the rest of the world with various partners, doing various jobs. He himself is most talented in playing the player in cards and other useful espionage tricks. While he's a crack-shot, though, killing leaves a bad taste in his mouth. He'd rather that be filled with a dry martini or someone else's wife.
His code name is just Seven (as in lucky #), or just "Sev".
